The short version

LooseLane has no accounts and no servers. Everything it remembers stays on your device. We can't see your photos, your writing or what you've done, because none of it is sent anywhere.

The one exception is when you choose to suggest a photo for the Highway. Then the photo, the task, your line, the name you chose if you chose one, and your email address come to us from your own mail app.

Photographs

Photos taken for a task are written to LooseLane's own storage on your device. They are not added to your photo library unless you ask for that, either for a single photo or by turning it on in Settings. They are never uploaded. The only way a photo leaves your device is if you choose to suggest it for the Highway.

What you write

Written answers are stored on your device alongside the task they belong to. Removing an entry from the archive deletes both the writing and the photos that came with it.

What we do not collect

No location, no advertising identifier, no usage tracking. LooseLane does not ask for your location, and no analytics are sent from the app.

The Highway

The Highway is a gallery inside the app, made of photos people chose to send in.

What is sent. If you suggest a photo, you send it by email from your own mail app. The email contains the photo, the task, your line, the name you chose if you chose one, and your email address. Nothing is sent unless you tap send.

Why. Only to consider your photo for the Highway and, if it's picked, to publish it there with the task, your line and your name (or "Anonymous"). Your email address is never published.

On what basis. Your consent, which you give with the checkboxes on the screen you send from.

Who it's shared with. The email arrives in Gmail (Google). If your photo is picked, it is published on looselane.github.io, hosted by GitHub. Both keep data outside Türkiye.

How it's decided. No decision is made automatically. A person looks at every photo.

Your rights. If you'd like anything corrected or removed, just let us know. We'll take your email out of Gmail and your photo off the Highway ourselves. Changed your mind? Same thing. The one thing we can't undo is a screenshot someone took while the photo was on the Highway. For any of this, and your other rights under the KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law): [email protected]
